Bihar’s tableau for the 2025 Republic Day Parade will celebrate the state’s rich tangible heritage, presenting Bihar as a “land of knowledge, salvation, and peace.” The tableau will highlight the historical and cultural significance of sites such as Nalanda University, the ancient ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara, the recently inaugurated International Nalanda University, and Bodh Gaya, where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.

Joint Director Ravi Bhushan Sahay explained the inspiration behind the tableau. “Bihar has been the land of knowledge, salvation, and peace since ancient times. Nalanda University was globally renowned. Through this tableau, we aim to showcase Bihar’s tangible heritage, particularly the ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara,” he said.

He added, “To re-establish Bihar as the land of knowledge, we are showcasing the International Nalanda University inaugurated last year by PM Modi. Bodh Gaya, with the sacred Bodhi Tree, is also prominently featured, as it is the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.”

A visual representation of the tableau includes depictions of Lord Buddha, the Bodhi Tree, and the ancient ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara, emphasizing Bihar’s historical and spiritual significance.

The Republic Day Parade 2025 will also feature a tableau from Haryana, showcasing the state’s progress across sectors under the theme “Samridh Haryana-Virasat Aur Vikas” (Prosperous Haryana – Heritage and Development). Haryana’s tableau will highlight its cultural heritage, technological advancements, and the contributions of its athletes, including a portrayal of the Bhagavad Gita’s divine message delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in Kurukshetra.

In addition to the state tableaux, a tri-services tableau themed “Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat” (Empowered and Secure India) will highlight the collaboration and integration of the Indian Armed Forces.

This year’s parade, held under the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), will commemorate 75 years since the enactment of the Indian Constitution. A total of 31 tableaux from States, Union Territories, and Central Government Ministries/Departments will participate, showcasing the nation’s cultural diversity, historical legacy, and developmental strides.

The event will conclude with a flypast by 47 aircraft and the release of balloons bearing banners of the 75th-anniversary logo of the Constitution. Tableaux from 16 States/Union Territories and 10 Central Ministries/Departments will reflect India’s evolving inclusiveness and collective vision for the future.

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto will be the Chief Guest at the parade. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh announced that a 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band contingent from Indonesia will join the parade alongside the Indian Armed Forces, symbolizing the growing partnership between the two nations.

The Republic Day Parade 2025 promises to be a grand celebration of India’s heritage, unity, and progress, offering a unique blend of cultural diversity and military prowess.
