The recent stabbing of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence has sent shockwaves through the film industry and beyond, prompting widespread concern and messages of support on social media. Saif, who was injured during an altercation with an intruder late Wednesday night, is now recovering at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after undergoing surgery.

An official statement from Saif’s team confirmed his condition: “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, with doctors monitoring his progress. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident. We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the team at Lilavati Hospital. We also appreciate the prayers and support from fans and well-wishers during this difficult time.”The shocking event unfolded at Saif’s residence in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building in Bandra when an intruder confronted the actor’s maid. Saif intervened in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, but the confrontation turned violent, resulting in the actor sustaining multiple stab wounds.

Dr. Nitin Dange, who led the treatment, provided details about Saif’s injuries:
“Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am with a history of assault by an unknown person. He sustained a major thoracic spinal cord injury caused by a knife lodged in his spine. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now, recovering well, and out of danger.”

The attack has deeply affected the Bollywood community. Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh wrote on social media: “My prayers with Saif sir and the entire family. This is very sad indeed! May your bravery and love for your family be rewarded with healing, strength, and peace. Get well soon #SaifAliKhan.”

Actor Pulkit Samrat called the attack “shocking” and added, “Praying for his speedy recovery!! True fighter!!”

Ashoke Pandit, President of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), expressed concerns about security lapses: “The attack on Saif Ali Khan in his own house is deeply concerning. The fact that an intruder could reach the 12th floor of a secured building is alarming. IFTDA condemns this attack and urges a thorough investigation by Mumbai Police.”

Veteran actor Raza Murad also voiced his concerns: “This is a very serious and terrifying incident. What is surprising is that despite strong security, an intruder managed to breach it and attack. If it was more than a burglary, as it appears, we must ask: What were his true intentions? Mumbai Police is capable, and I trust they will get to the bottom of this.”

Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and children Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan were spotted at Lilavati Hospital to be by his side. Filmmaker Siddharth Anand, who has worked with Saif on Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum, also visited the hospital with his wife, Mamta Bhatia-Anand. Anand is producing Saif’s upcoming heist thriller Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter.

The Mumbai Police have confirmed the incident was an attempted burglary. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam shared: “The accused used the fire escape to enter the building. Preliminary evidence suggests it was a burglary attempt. We have identified one suspect and are working to apprehend him. Ten detection teams are actively pursuing leads.”

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is investigating the incident to determine the full extent of the intruder’s intentions and prevent similar breaches in the future.

This violent incident has reignited discussions about celebrity security and public safety, with many in the industry calling for stricter measures. Fans and colleagues alike are wishing Saif Ali Khan a speedy recovery as he continues to heal from this traumatic event.
