As the world’s largest spiritual gathering, the Maha Kumbh Mela, begins on the auspicious occasion of Paush Purnima on Monday, devotees from across the globe have arrived in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to be part of this sacred event.

Speaking to ANI, a Russian devotee working in Europe expressed his excitement, saying, “This is our first time at the Kumbh Mela, and we are incredibly excited. You truly experience the real India here, and the true strength of India lies in its people. I’m overwhelmed by the energy of the people and the holiness of this place. I love India—Mera Bharat Mahaan!”

Another devotee, Jeremy, shared his deep admiration for the experience. He spoke about his connection to Sanatan Dharma, saying, “It has been beautiful to visit and see Ganga Maa and Yamuna Maa. I’ve been practicing Sanatan Dharma for seven years. The logic of the religion makes sense—it’s not blind faith, but a blend of faith and reason. It’s simply beautiful.”

Jonathan, visiting India for the first time, described his experience as “excellent.” He added, “The people are lovely, the food is amazing, and seeing the pilgrimage sites, temples, and holy places has been incredible. We’re hoping to take part in one of the royal baths, and the whole experience is exciting!”

Foreign pilgrims from countries like South Africa, Brazil, and Spain have also expressed their joy and gratitude for being part of the event. Francisco, a devotee from Brazil, said, “It’s amazing here; India is the spiritual heart of the world. The water might be cold, but my heart is filled with warmth.”

This year, the Maha Kumbh holds even more significance as it coincides with a rare celestial alignment that occurs only once every 144 years, adding to the spiritual and cosmic importance of the event.

The Uttar Pradesh Traffic Police have made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth transportation and the safety of the millions of devotees visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela.

After a gap of 12 years, the Maha Kumbh is expected to attract over 45 crore devotees, and the event will continue until February 26.
