Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Thursday detailed the safety and security preparations for the 2025 Maha Kumbh, set to begin on January 13. Over 45 crore devotees are expected to attend the event, which is celebrated once every 12 years.

Pathak announced that the administration has deployed 125 ambulances on roads, equipped with 15 Advanced Life Support (ALS) systems to provide emergency care.

“In addition to the road ambulances, air ambulances and seven river ambulances have been stationed. One river ambulance has been deployed today, and the remaining will be operational by tomorrow. The government has made all necessary arrangements to handle any situation,” Pathak told ANI.

Addressing concerns about potential threats from Khalistani extremists, Pathak assured that robust security measures have been implemented.

“The government has ensured all necessary health and security arrangements for the Kumbh. Our top priority is to provide a seamless and safe experience for seers and devotees, ensuring their comfort and security throughout the event,” he added.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticized Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for the alleged mismanagement during the 2013 Kumbh Mela under his tenure as Chief Minister.

When Akhilesh Yadav was in power during the 2013 Kumbh, there was chaos, and accidents occurred, leading to the loss of lives. However, during the Ardh Kumbh in 2019, no unfortunate incidents happened, which is why we are witnessing an even larger turnout this time,” Maurya remarked.

He invited seers and devotees to participate in the Maha Kumbh, highlighting the extensive preparations made by the government. “The Maha Kumbh, being organized after 144 years, is a historic event, and we have ensured the best arrangements for its success,” he said.

The Maha Kumbh, a spiritual event of immense significance, will be held at the Sangam in Prayagraj, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers converge. Devotees believe that taking a holy dip at the Sangam absolves sins and grants moksha (liberation).

The event, concluding on February 26, will feature key bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) on:

With meticulous arrangements and an expected participation of over 45 crore people, the 2025 Maha Kumbh aims to provide a spiritually enriching and safe experience for all attendees.
