Jennie Garth, known for her iconic role as Kelly Taylor on the original ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, has expressed her regrets about returning for the reboot series ‘90210’. The reboot, which aired on The CW from 2008 to 2013, was the fourth installment in the ‘90210’ franchise, following the beloved 1990s show.

In a candid interview, Garth shared her mixed feelings about her involvement in the reboot. “I wish I hadn’t done it. No offense to them,” she admitted, reflecting on her experience. Garth recounted how she felt pressured into participating after being approached by a producer who was a friend of a friend. “He came over to my living room, sat me down, and sold it as this incredible opportunity. At the time, I didn’t know how to say no,” she said. Despite her reservations, Garth praised the cast and crew of the reboot, acknowledging their kindness and professionalism.

The ‘90210’ reboot featured Garth alongside fellow original cast members Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling. The new series introduced a new generation of characters, including Shenae Grimes-Beech and AnnaLynne McCord, and focused on the lives of affluent students at West Beverly Hills High School.

Other original cast members also had mixed feelings about the reboot. Gabrielle Carteris, who played Andrea Zuckerman on the original show, confessed her surprise at the decision to revive the series. “I was so shocked they were doing a new show. I thought, is it really necessary to reinvent it over and over?” she said. Similarly, Brian Austin Green expressed his sentiment that the original series had already told its story. “No offense at all, but we did ten years of that show, and it felt like, OK, done,” he remarked.

The original ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, created by Darren Star, ran for ten seasons from 1990 to 2000. The show followed a group of friends navigating life in the upscale neighborhood of Beverly Hills, exploring their transition from high school to adulthood. It featured a star-studded cast, including Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, and Tiffani Thiessen, and left a lasting impact on pop culture.
